Before working on the shop today, we paid a short visit to the Maker Faire in San Mateo. The highlight of the day was meeting Sabrina Moyle of Hello Lucky! Pictured above are our spoils. It was such a treat to chat with Sabrina about small business, family recipes and interior design. Check out Sabrina’s vintage red velvet cake recipe on Design*Sponge. Have a great week!

Happy Friday everyone. We really appreciate everyone’s patience with the set up of the new location and the infrequent updates to the blog. It’s been quite a month for us. We’ll be ready to open our doors at the Menlo Park store next week, and then it will be business as usual. We urge you to come visit us and check out our new summer clothing from Anna Sui and Yoana Baraschi. As always, we’re amazed by each and every piece. We got in some really special dresses from both designers. We’re happy to have our Internet up and running – this is our first post from Menlo Park. Hope to see you next week!

Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday 3 new Anna Sui Spring pieces arrived. In the group are the Constellation dress (pictured), Ombre Violets dress, and the Circle Venise tee in black. We love the black, cream, violet and royal blue colors of the group, really rich for late Spring and early Summer.
Also, we’re making great progress on the Menlo Park space and are on time for its late May opening. Have a great weekend!

We stole away to Vegas for a little rest and relaxation. While there, we made it a point to take note of what women were wearing. The most popular outfits consisted of a maxi dress and flat sandals. The maxi dresses ranged from solid black to vibrant green to printed. Some were strapless or halter, others had spaghetti straps. There was something very distinctive about the flat sandals. A lot of them had a gold chain or buckle detail across the top like the ones pictured above. As for the bags, many women carried big slouchy bags. They came in all materials – fabric, plastic and leather. We thought outfits similar to this one were brilliant for the hot dry weather. So next time you’re in an extremely hot climate, dress cool and comfortably in a maxi dress and embellished sandals.

Katie Holmes was photographed yesterday wearing a Wren dress and cardigan. We love Katie’s style, especially when she’s dressed casually and running around town with Suri. Shop our selection of Wren Spring and Summer clothing to master your casual style like Katie. Happy Friday, it’s going to be hot this weekend. Try to stay cool.

entrance in rear facing Draegers
Hi there! Today we planted a mix of semiannual and perennial plants in front of our new Menlo Park space. We’d have to admit it was pretty scary before this afternoon. Our favorites are the lavender and boxwoods. Notice the windows are still covered up. We want to keep the boutique a surprise until we open late in May. Please mark your calendars for our opening, and see you soon in the MP.

Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you’re enjoying your day with family and friends. Here at Josef we’ve actually been hoping for a makeover – a site makeover, and so we’re happy to announce the launch of our redesigned site! The new colors, logo, flourishes and nature friends are compliments of theforeststudio. Thank you Anna, we heart the new look and feel!
Have a great Sunday everyone.
Kudos to you who caught the Dionne Warwick reference. That one’s for you mom

Twinkle Zipper Belt in Navy Blue Leather
Belts. Yep, that’s what we got in this week from Twinkle by Wenlan! We have the Twisted Vine Belt (119) and the Zipper Belt (180) available in store. Both are made of crinkled patent leather. The Vine Belt comes in a dove gray, while the Zipper Belt comes in a rich navy blue. These belts are meant to be worn at your natural waist. Size up if you’d like to wear them lower on the hips. On display at the shop, we styled the vine belt with the Steven Alan McCarren Dress. Too cute! The navy belt looks great worn over a tank and a fine knit cardigan with skinny jeans and sandals. Never thought you were a belt girl? These two will make you reconsider.
