Today our friend, JR, from Reclaim stopped by to talk shop and drop off this sweet arrangement of very fragrant gardenias. Thanks, JR!
In addition to the gardenias, our water perfumes arrived from New York today! We have 8 scents to choose from by designer Christopher Brosius. It’s fun to stand around the display table and remember our childhood through each of the scents. Our personal favorite is In The Library. It has hints of leather and vanilla. Really unusual, but very fantastic! This weekend is the Connoisseurs’ Marketplace in Menlo Park. Come join the fun tomorrow and see you then!
Thanks, Jen, for featuring us on your website. For those of you who aren’t in the know, Jen runs a lifestyle consulting business for women in and around the area. We’re featured in the Itineraries section, and in honor of the mention receive 20% off one regular priced item when you shop in-store and say “girlfriend” at the time of purchase. This offer will end on Saturday, July 25, 2009. To read more about Jen and the services she offers, visit her site at www.jennovakconsulting.com.
We’re excited to offer buttery soft leather wrap belts by Ada. They arrived at the end of last week and have been getting lots of attention! There are three colors: tan, chocolate brown and black. Wear them with a billowy blouse and jeans or a cotton t-shirt dress. In the winter you can update your favorite cardigan by wearing a wrap belt over it. They’re hand-crafted with love in Argentina, and the price is perfect at $55 USD. If you have a chance, stop by this week to see them in person!
Our friend took this picture over the 4th of July Holiday while on vacation at California’s Lost Coast. The colors in this photo are spectacular, and the combination is perfect for Autumn. If you’re looking ahead to a Fall wardrobe, use this picture for color inspiration. We love how black, charcoal grey, white, dove grey, seafoam green, and cream all go together. The darker colors can be worn as bottoms, so black and charcoal pants or skirts. The lighter colors can be worn on top — cream, dove grey and seafoam green blouses, sweaters and coats. Have a great day everyone!

We saw this photo on Design*Sponge today and thought it was so inspiring. It’s exceptional to us because we know if we had this space, we’d turn it into a storage, catch-all area filled with clutter. Right? This just makes us want to go home and style a simple yet elegant nook in our own home — a great weekend project. Happy Friday!
Now that summer is upon us, we’re finding that we’re reaching for some pieces more than others. First on our list is a pair of distressed jeans. These are perfect for adding a bit of edge to your look. However, keep the look clean by pairing them with a silk tank or cotton blouse.
Light-weight cotton tops have been great for us in the warm weather. We’ve been living in the Steven Alan and Paul & Joe Sister cotton tops offered at the shop.
Another staple we’ve been going back to is a pair of navy blue cotton-linen shorts by Wren. Although we’ve sold out on them, investing in a high-quality, dressy pair of shorts is a good idea. We’ve been able to wear them with t-shirts, cotton sweaters and blouses, and they look great with leather flats or sandals.
To balance out the summer separates, a couple of summer dresses are good to have on hand. Dresses are great because they’re one-piece outfits and can be worn dressy or casual. Our favorites are the Yoana Baraschi Hippie Slip dress and the Twinkle Hour by Hour dress.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
